Southwest reserves the right to amend pricing listed above at any time.

1Carryon bags: Southwest allows all ticketed Passengers to carry on the following for free: (a) one carryon bag (e.g., roller bag, garment bag, tote bag) that does not exceed external dimensions of 10 x 16 x 24 ; and (b) one smaller, personal type item (e.g., purse, briefcase, laptop computer case, backpack, small camera), provided that such items can be stowed under a seat or in an overhead compartment.

2Checked bag: Bag fees apply to Basic, Choice, and Choice Preferred fares booked and ticketed and/or changed on or after May 28, 2025. Choice Extra fares, Rapid Rewards® A-List Preferred members, and Getaways by Southwest Customers receive two free checked bags. A-List members and Rapid Rewards Credit Cardmembers only receive their first checked bag for free. Checked bag benefits will not apply on flights booked with a partner carrier. Weight and size limits apply. Additional allowances, benefits, and/or exceptions may apply.

3Overweight items from 51-70 pounds will cost $150. Overweight items 71-100 pounds will cost $200. Oversized items in excess of 62 inches but not more than 80 inches will be accepted for a charge of $200 per item. Only one $200 charge applies if the piece is both oversized and overweight, regardless of the weight as long as it does not exceed 100 lbs. Excess baggage which is also overweight or oversized will be charged excess baggage plus the applicable oversize or overweight charge. In total, a Customer is limited to check 20 pieces of checked baggage per flight. This limitation includes Carrier's Free Checked Baggage Allowance and excess baggage would be subject to applicable excess baggage charges.

4Sporting Equipment includes windsurfing/surfboards, kiteboards, vaulting poles, non motorized bicycles (62 inches or less and less than 50 pounds), life rafts, javelin, kayaks. Surfboard bag containing a surfboard(s) when traveling on flights between the islands of Hawaii can be substituted for one checked bag. Keels and fins must be removed and placed in carryon or checked baggage. If the surfboard bag exceeds 50 pounds in weight, the surfboard bag will be accepted for an overweight baggage fee of $75 per item each way. Length and width restrictions do not apply. May be subject to a limited release of liability as outlined in the Contract of Carriage.

5Active duty military Customers must have their current, valid military ID to receive the exemption.

7Southwest Airlines accepts small vaccinated domestic cats and dogs to travel as pets. All in cabin pets must be carried in an appropriate carrier. Each pet carrier counts as a carryon or personal item. Pet Fare is subject to change at anytime.

8Where available. Available only on WiFi enabled aircraft. Limited time offer. Internet access for $8 per device from takeoff to landing. Price is subject to change. May not be available for the full duration of the flight. In order to provide a top notch Internet experience, we prohibit access to certain high bandwidth applications and websites. We also prohibit access to certain obscene or offensive content.

9Alcoholic drinks are available for purchase on select flights over 250 miles, based on availability. Selections may vary. Service may be modified or limited at Southwest's discretion. Alcohol purchased onboard must be consumed onboard. You must be 21 years or older to drink alcoholic beverages. According to the U.S. Surgeon General, women who are pregnant or who may become pregnant should not drink alcoholic beverages because of the risk of birth defects. Images of the alcoholic beverage product do not reflect how it is actually served. In accordance with FAA regulations, Customers are prohibited from consuming alcoholic beverages onboard that are not served by Southwest Airlines®. Customers will not receive a beverage with a cap.

10Cancellations: All fare types are eligible for cancellations without a fee. For changes to a flight itinerary with Choice, Choice Preferred, and Choice Extra, there is no fee, though a fare difference may apply. Failure to cancel a reservation at least 10 minutes prior to original scheduled departure may result in forfeited travel funds.

11First Checked Bag Free: The primary Rapid Rewards® Credit Cardmember and up to eight Passengers traveling on the same reservation are each eligible to receive their first standard checked bag free. Cardmembers should allow up to 14 days for card status to be updated in their Rapid Rewards account to be eligible for this benefit. To receive their first standard checked bag free, the primary Cardmember must include their Rapid Rewards number in their reservation. The first standard checked bag free is not available on flights booked with a partner carrier. Service charges for oversized, overweight, and extra baggage may apply. Cardmembers with A-List Preferred or A-List status or who purchase a fare that includes a free checked bag will receive the bag benefits associated with their Southwest Rapid Rewards® tier status or fare. Cardmembers who are already exempt from paying the charge for their first checked bag are not eligible for this benefit. Authorized users of Rapid Reward Credit Cards and employee cards of Rapid Rewards Business Credit Cards are not eligible for this benefit. Credit card account must be open and not in default to be eligible for this benefit. Chase is not responsible for the provision of or failure to provide the stated benefits and services.

12Hawaii residency is based on the primary mailing address of the Rapid Rewards Member and must be a valid United States Postal Hawaii mailing address.

May be subject to a limited release of liability as outlined in the Contract of Carriage.

15Interisland Hawaii Travel Baggage Fee: In addition to the standard baggage fee, Overweight items from 51-70 pounds will cost $35. Overweight items 71-100 pounds will cost $70. Oversized items in excess of 62 inches but not more than 80 inches will be accepted for a charge of $35 per item plus the standard baggage fee. In addition to the standard baggage fee, only one $100 charge applies if the piece is both oversized and overweight, regardless of the weight as long as it does not exceed 100 lbs. Excess baggage which is also overweight or oversized will be charged excess baggage plus the applicable oversize or overweight charge. In total, a Customer is limited to check 20 pieces of checked baggage per flight. This limitation includes Carrier's Free Checked Baggage Allowance and excess baggage would be subject to applicable excess baggage charges.

16Interisland Hawaii Travel Sporting Equipment Fees: Accepted Sporting Equipment and their respective policies can be found on our Help Center. Any item listed in the Help Center will be treated as a standard bag, and if a Customer qualifies for any checked bag allowances, the items listed will be accepted. Two bags continue to fly free between the islands for Hawaii residents; this still includes your surfboards. Equipment may be subject to standard excess and overweight fees. Oversized fees will be waived for the listed equipment. Hawaii residency is based on the primary mailing address of the Customer and must be a valid United States Postal Hawaii mailing address (P.O. Boxes are not permitted). May be subject to a limited release of liability as outlined in the Contract of Carriage.

17First Checked Bag Free: The primary Rapid Rewards® Credit Cardmember and up to eight Passengers traveling on the same reservation are each eligible to receive their first standard checked bag free. If no Standard seat is available, Cardmembers will be assigned a seat in accordance with the fare rules of the ticket purchased. When available, Cardmembers will be able to select Standard seats for up to 8 additional Passengers on the same reservation as the Cardmember, allowing for a total of 9 Standard seats. If the Cardmember is removed from the reservation and there is no primary Cardmember or tier Rapid Rewards® Member with the same or greater seating benefits, all seating selections for that reservation will be released and seats will be assigned in accordance with the fare rules of the ticket purchased. Benefits may not apply on itineraries booked with partner airlines. Cardmembers should allow up to 14 days for card status to be updated in their Rapid Rewards account to be eligible for this benefit. Authorized users of a Rapid Rewards Plus Credit Card and Rapid Rewards Employee Credit Card; and employee cards of a Rapid Rewards Plus Business Credit Card are not eligible for this benefit. If your Credit card account is closed or in default before or at the time of travel, the seat selection will be released. If the Cardmember is removed from the reservation and there is no primary Cardmember or tier Rapid Rewards® Member with the same or greater seatings benefits, all seating selections for that reservation will be released and seats will be assigned in accordance with the fare rules of the ticket purchased. Benefits may not apply on itineraries booked with partner airlines. Cardmembers should allow up to 14 days for card status to be updated in their Rapid Rewards account to be eligible for this benefit. Authorized users of Rapid Rewards Credit Cards and employee cards of Rapid Rewards Business Credit Cards are not eligible for this benefit. 21Extra Legroom Seat Upgrade at 48 Hours Prior to Departure: When available, primary Cardmembers with a Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card or a Southwest Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card will be able to upgrade to an Extra Legroom seat within 48 hours prior to flight departure for themselves and up to 8 additional Passengers on the same reservation, allowing for a total of 9 Extra Legroom seats. If the Cardmember is removed from the reservation and there is no primary Cardmember or tier Rapid Rewards® Member with the same or greater seating benefits, all seating selections for that reservation will be released and seats will be assigned in accordance with the fare rules of the ticket purchased. Benefits may not apply on itineraries booked with partner airlines. Cardmembers should allow up to 14 days for card status to be updated in their Rapid Rewards accounts to be eligible for this benefit. Authorized users of Rapid Rewards Credit Cards and employee cards of Rapid Rewards Business Credit Cards are not eligible for this benefit. Credit card account must be open and not in default at or before the time of travel, otherwise seat selection will be released. Chase is not responsible for the provision of or failure to provide the stated benefits and services.

22Group 5 Boarding Benefit: Primary Cardmembers with a Southwest Rapid Rewards® Credit Card or Southwest Rapid Rewards® Business Credit Card will be able to board their Southwest® flight with Group 5. Up to 8 Passengers traveling on the same reservation as the Cardmember will be able to board with Group 5 as long as the Cardmember remains booked on the same reservation. Eligible Passengers will have “Cardmember” displayed on their Southwest® boarding pass to indicate their boarding privilege. If the Cardmember's account is closed or in default before or at the time of travel, this benefit will be canceled for them and all Passengers on the same reservation. If the Cardmember is removed from the reservation and there is no primary Cardmember or tier Rapid Rewards member with the same or greater boarding benefits, boarding will be assigned in accordance with the fare rules of the ticket purchased. Cardmembers should allow up to 14 days from approval for card status to be updated in their Rapid Rewards® account to be eligible for this benefit. Authorized users of Rapid Rewards Credit Cards and employee cards of Rapid Rewards Business Credit Cards are not eligible for this benefit. This benefit is available on Southwest Airlines® operated flights only. Benefits may not apply on itineraries booked with partner airlines. 23Points earned based on fare type and Rapid Rewards® Credit Card:
Rapid Rewards Plus, Plus Business, or Employee Credit Card: You'll earn 2 points per $1 on Southwest Airlines® purchases made with your Southwest card, on top of the points earned from Southwest based on fare type. That's 4 total points per $1 on Basic fare (2 points from Southwest); 8 total points per $1 on Choice fare (6 points from Southwest); 12 total points per $1 on Choice Preferred fare (10 points from Southwest); or 16 total points per $1 spent on Choice Extra (14 points from Southwest).
Rapid Rewards Premier or Premier Business Credit Card: You'll earn 3 points per $1 on Southwest Airlines® purchases made with your Southwest card, on top of the points earned from Southwest based on fare type.
